Small Double Beds in Demand

Faro - 4ft wide, small double bed
There has been a recent surge in demand for small double beds. A traditional double bed in the UK is 4ft 6 inches wide. However, with UK property markets under pressure, space in new houses is at a real premium.

Regardless of the official number of bedrooms, room sizes in new UK houses are getting smaller. House builders are desperate to market the spaciousness of their houses and the fact that have so many double bedrooms. Typically, many of these double bedrooms would find it difficult to feature a full size double bed. The best option is to utilise a small double bed that is 4ft wide. A 4ft bed is usually considered too small for two normal adults. But if space is at a premium then a 4ft bed would have to suffice.

The small double bed illustrated is a Faro. It is available as a bedstead for approximately £130.
